Meet Oggie, our Earth Steward of soil, forests, and organic life — and now the proud champion of the UN Biodiversity Targets for Schools!
Oggie’s mission? To inspire young Earth Stewards to protect the richness of life on our planet — from the tiniest soil creatures to the tallest forest trees. With the new UN Global Biodiversity Framework — made up of 4 long-term goals for 2050 and 23 action targets for 2030 — we’re inviting schools to take action and bring these global goals to life through learning, doing, and sharing.
Here’s how your school can join Oggie’s biodiversity mission:
Explore local nature: Investigate the plants, insects, birds, and fungi in your school grounds or local area. (Target 12)
Grow life: Create pollinator patches, organic gardens, or native tree nurseries. (Target 2 & 10)
Protect ecosystems: Learn about endangered species, habitats, and how your school can reduce its impact. (Target 1 & 4)
Act locally, connect globally: Link your school’s actions to the 23 UN Biodiversity Targets, such as reducing pollution, restoring ecosystems, and supporting nature-based solutions. (Targets 5, 7, 8 & 11)
